Evergreen basketball player Adrian Wright is the The Columbian 2022-23 Week 11 high school athlete of the week.
Wright received 396 votes to beat out Heritage’s Vernon Onick for the honor.
Wright scored 22 points in a league win over Mountain View and added 18 more in a win over Battle Ground.
Winners of the athlete-of-the-week may not be nominated again during the regular season, and no athlete may be nominated in consecutive weeks.
Five more nominees and a new ballot will be posted on Monday with voting continuing through Wednesday.

BRODY DAVIS, WASHOUGAL BOYS WRESTLING: Davis won the 113-pound division at the Ranger Classic at Estacada, Ore., with a pin in 56 seconds in the championship match.
TARIK KURTA, FORT VANCOUVER BOYS SWIMMING: Kurta won the 25-yard freestyle and the 50 butterfly as the Mark Morris Jamboree.
VERNON ONICK, HERITAGE BOYS BASKETBALL: Onick scored 26, 30 and 21 points as the Timberwolves opened the season with three victories.
EMILY STREHLE, KELSO GIRLS BOWLING: Strehle bowled games of 245, 205, 190 and 243 in wins over Prairie and Battle Ground.
