Water Station 5, which sits across Tower Mall in the Heights District, is on track to be fully renovated by late 2023. The improvements, identified in 2015, are necessary for the utility station's seismic resiliency. Otherwise, it would basically implode and leave hundreds of thousands of residents without water services. Water Station 5's utility system connects 8,000 residents to water and serves as a transfer hub for nearly 214,000 people in the area.
