The city of Vancouver is seeking two volunteers who are experienced in community planning, urban design, equitable investment or housing policy to serve on its planning commission.

Commission members are responsible for making growth and development recommendations to the Vancouver City Council. Vacant seats are for midterm appointments that are due to expire in December 2025 with the option to apply for a full four-year term.

Candidates must live in Vancouver or the unincorporated Urban Growth Area outside of city limits and must be willing to dedicate about 15 hours per month. These account for bi-monthly meetings, which are held in a mixed in-person and virtual format.

Applications must be submitted by 9 a.m. on Sept. 19 and may be found on the city of Vancouver’s website. Information is also available in Spanish, Russian and Ilocano. To receive a printed application or a form in another format, contact the city’s boards and commission coordinator at bc_coordinator@cityofvancouver.us or 360-487-8600.
