Update: Asanachescu was found safe on Aug. 27 and picked up by a family member, according to Vancouver police.

The Vancouver Police Department is searching for a missing, endangered man who was last seen Wednesday.

Andrei A. Asanachescu is a white male who is 6-feet-tall and 300 pounds. He is on insulin for diabetes and also takes medication for schizophrenia, according to a news release from the Vancouver Police Department. He is friendly to law enforcement.

“Andrei likes to frequent Target and Fred Meyer and occasionally asks for money on the street,” according to the news release. “Andrei is very independent and knows his way around the city. He knows how to use C-Tran and may use it to get to Portland. Per family, he has no known friends or family in the immediate area.”

Anyone who has information regarding Andrei’s whereabouts is urged to call 911.
