Three people were displaced by a house fire Thursday night in Vancouver’s Harney Heights neighborhood.

Units from the Vancouver Fire Department responded shortly after 10 p.m. to a residential fire in the 3800 block of East 13th Street. The first arriving company saw flames coming through the roof of the single-story home, according to a news release from the fire department.

After additional crews arrived, firefighters entered the home to fight the fire in the attic and check if all residents were out, the news release states. The fire was extinguished within seven minutes. No injuries were reported.

Two crews stayed on scene for about three hours to ensure all hot spots were extinguished, the fire department said, and to salvage the residents’ belongings.

The Red Cross was called to assist the displaced residents.

A total of 19 firefighters on five engines and one ladder truck responded.

The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the cause.
