Letter: Far right shows hypocrisy

One has to wonder about the level of hypocrisy of members of the far right who are screaming into their computers and cellphones about the recent raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort. They charge that the FBI is a bunch of “jack-booted Gestapo” agents of an oppressive government. Interesting.

The FBI conducted the raid according to the lawful search warrant that was issued by a federal judge based on credible evidence that Trump committed a felony by removing classified documents upon his exit from the White House. A normal citizen would be in jail right now facing charges of sedition and a potential life sentence.

As to the charge that the FBI was acting like the Gestapo: Be assured that the Gestapo never went to court to obtain permission to conduct a raid. The Gestapo was a ruthless group of thugs that operated under the orders of Hitler and Himmler. The hypocrisy enters the picture when you recall that it is the far right that idolizes Hitler and carries the swastika flag when they march in support of their hate-driven goal of driving out of this country anyone who does not look and think like them.
