A Vancouver bicyclist died of his injuries after he was hit by an SUV in a crosswalk Friday morning in Orchards, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers responded at 5:18 a.m. to the intersection of state Highway 503 and Northeast 71st Street.

A Lincoln Navigator, driven by Robert V. Metcalf, 65, of Vancouver, was traveling south on Highway 503 approaching 71st Street and ran a red light, according to a State Patrol crash memo.

The bicyclist, identified as Levi E. Adolph-Collin, 24, was in the crosswalk riding east on 71st Street when he was hit by the SUV, the crash memo states.

Adolph-Collin was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he died, according to the State Patrol. Metcalf was not injured.

The crash memo states the cause of the crash is under investigation.
