The art-sale fundraising event for Friends of Vancouver Community Library that used to happen during the holiday season has moved to summertime.

This year’s Art4Art sale, featuring small, original pieces by Vancouver artists who donated them to the cause, is set for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today on the south lawn of the Vancouver Community Library, 901 C St.

“We canceled the fund-raiser in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, and decided to change it from a winter event to a summer event,” senior public services librarian Beth Wood said.

The 8-inch-square art panels sell for $30 apiece. In previous years, they’ve displayed a huge variety of subjects and approaches — from landscapes to politics, from watercolors to collages, from realistic to abstract. Whatever your taste, you can take home an original artwork by a Clark County neighbor, and feel good about supporting Friends of Vancouver Community Library’s efforts to keep art events, projects and exhibits happening at the library.

Food trucks will be nearby, and music will be provided by local guitarist John Van Beek of Music We Remember.
