Larry Hicks of Vancouver was identified Tuesday as the motorcyclist fatally struck by an SUV on Friday in the Sea Mar Clinic parking lot.

The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office said in a news release that Hicks, 57, died from blunt force head injuries. His death was ruled a homicide, meaning it resulted from another person’s deliberate action. The ruling does not make any judgments about criminal culpability.

Vancouver police responded at 5:32 a.m. to 7803 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd. for a report of a motorcyclist who had been hit.

Witnesses said they overheard the motorcyclist and other people in the parking lot possibly getting into some type of confrontation. They then heard a crash and saw the dark-colored SUV driving out of the parking lot and the motorcyclist on the ground, the police department said in a news release late Friday afternoon.

Hicks was taken to an area hospital but did not survive his injuries, police said. Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Team are investigating.

The family has created a GoFundMe campaign for Hicks’ funeral costs.
