Blooming delight

Find hanging baskets in various sizes, geraniums, primroses, succulents, sedum flats and flowering patio pots at the Battle Ground High School greenhouse sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at 300 W. Main St., Battle Ground. The plants have been grown by students and proceeds support the district’s horticultural programs. Cash, check and debit cards are all accepted. Guitar heroes

Musician Richie Bean hosts Musicians’ Open Mic Night 6-8 p.m. today at Ridgefield Craft Brewing Company, 120 N. Third Ave., Ridgefield. Craft brews and ciders are available to buy. Purchase meals from food trucks or nearby eateries. The taproom is open to patrons 21 and older but the heated tent is open to everyone. For details, contact Bean through www.richiebean.com.

Bad apples

Journey Theater Arts presents Disney’s “Descendants: The Musical.” This musical comedy features characters and songs from the Disney Channel movies. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday, April 29 and 30 and at 2 p.m. Saturday and April 30. Tickets purchased online at journeytheater.org are $16 for adults or $12 for children and seniors. Tickets are $2 more at the door. Shows are at Fort Vancouver High School, 5700 E. 18th St., Vancouver.

Back to nature

Columbia Springs, 12208 S.E. Evergreen Highway, Vancouver, offers Family Nature Fun from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21 and June 11. Themes include “Look Closely,” “Fish,” and “Superpowers.” Take part in short hikes, fish-themed games, habitat hunts and nature-inspired art activities. At-home options will also be provided for those who can’t attend in person. A $5 donation per child is suggested to help cover costs. Get details at www.columbiasprings.org.

Upriver art

The 2022 Gorge Artists Open Studios Tour is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It is a free, self-guided tour of 33 artists’ studios throughout the mid-Columbia Gorge area. Artists will be showing work in a variety of media, including glass, metalwork, painting, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, wood working, art quilting and photography.
