Clark County residents can expect Wednesday’s weather to continue the area’s unsettled streak.
The National Weather Service says there is a chance of thunderstorms with some hail and a very small possibility of a tornado or water spouts in the later morning and afternoon.
Meteorologist David Bishop emphasized the risk of a tornado in the area is “small but non-zero” and that no part of Southwest Washington or Oregon is under a tornado watch.
However, he said wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph and potential thunderstorms could bring hail up to ½ inch in diameter.
The National Weather service reminded people to avoid sheltering from severe weather under trees, even if in a car, in a Tuesday statement on social media.
Forecasters predict the rain will continue through Wednesday night and into Thursday morning before a brief break later Thursday. The National Weather Service predicts a 30 percent chance of rain during the daytime hours Friday in Vancouver. Forecasters say the area should dry out over the weekend.
Temperatures are also predicted to rise back up to typical April numbers later in the week, with Vancouver forecasted to reach highs in the upper 50s or low 60s.
