The Clark County Council has a lot to tackle Tuesday. Beginning at its 11 a.m. meeting, the council will review its most recent voting district map. At its last meeting on April 13, the council directed staff to create a new proposed map that meets criteria established by state law but does not consider the location or district for councilors’ residences.
The council meets again at 6 p.m. and has three public hearings scheduled.
The first hearing is to review the county’s Rules of Procedure, which establishes the guidelines and processes for how the council does business. It also includes the council’s code of ethics, which has been revised as part of the council’s discussions on the newly created ethics review commission and ethics oversight office.
The second public hearing is a review of two ongoing projects: the 179th Street access management and circulation plan and the Parks, Recreation, Open Space plan. The 179th Street project, in partnership with the Washington Department of Transportation, includes road improvements along Northeast 179th from west of Interstate 5 east to Northeast 50th Avenue.
The Parks, Recreation, Open Space plan prioritizes operations and development for the county’s park system. An update is required every six years. The last plan was adopted in 2015.
