VSO accepts applications for Young Artists Competition

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is accepting applications from all 50 states for its 28th Annual Young Artist Concerto Competition.

Applications must be received by Aug. 1. Students 18 years of age or younger as of Jan. 1, 2023, who are legal residents of the United States are eligible to compete in piano, strings and woodwinds or brass categories.

The three top candidates in each category will compete Oct. 16 in Vancouver in front of an audience and a panel of judges. Winners will receive $5,000 for gold medalists, $2,000 for silver and $1,000 for bronze.

First place musicians will perform with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra on Jan. 21 and 22 at Skyview Concert Hall.
