The Clark County Law Library now sells a self-help kit to aid people seeking a default judgment in a civil lawsuit in Superior Court.

The kit will guide people asking for a default judgment in a case with only one defendant when the person has not responded to the lawsuit and it’s been less than a year since the person was served with the summons or complaint. A county news release states the kit will allow someone, after they’ve won a case, to get a court order for the amount of money they requested.

The kit costs $15 in cash, $17 by card and $27 online, including shipping and handling.

Legal self-help kits from the law library include forms and instructions. People can find more information on self-help kits on the county’s website at https://clark.wa.gov/law-library/self-help-form-kits.
