One person was displaced after the back side of their house caught fire Monday afternoon in the Five Corners area.
The Vancouver Fire Department responded around 5:40 p.m. to the 9800 block of Northeast 81st Street after a neighbor reported “20-foot flames visible with the whole back of the house on fire,” according to a press release.
Crews quickly extinguished the flames at the back of a small, one-story house and went inside to search for residents, the fire department said. The fire was under control in about 10 minutes. No one was injured.
The person who was displaced is being helped by friends, the press release states.
Clark County Fire District 6 and AMR also assisted.
The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
