Letter: Leaf blowers are necessary

Tell Mark Muenster (“Ban two-cycle leaf blowers,” Our Readers’ Views, March 29) that many leaf blowers are now four-cycle, as the Stihl Model 550 and 660.

I have a 550 and love it. My neighbor has a battery-powered unit and is a very environmental kind of guy. He also has a battery-powered lawn mower and water barrels, etc. But he always borrows my leaf blower and my gas-powered lawn mower, as they are more efficient and seem to get the job done. Plus, you will not have to put the battery in a long-term dump in The Dallas, Ore.

None of this equipment is good for the universe, but you have to take care of the neighbors’ leaves, right?
