The Washington State Patrol is seeking information about a Sept. 10 assault that occurred on the 78th Street offramp of northbound Interstate 5 in Hazel Dell.

Around 9:30 p.m., three men beat a 50-year-old Vancouver man, seriously injuring him after a road rage incident. The victim suffered severe facial and head injuries, detectives said.

He had stopped at the bottom of the 78th Street offramp to confront the driver of a silver Volkswagen Golf. Three men exited the Volkswagen, and witnesses described them punching, kicking and stomping the man. The men then drove off, turning right onto 78th Street toward Highway 99, according to the State Patrol.

Detectives are looking for the three men who were in the Volkswagen. The car had a “Fukengruven” sticker in large white letters across the back window, the State Patrol said.

The State Patrol asks anyone who witnessed the assault to contact Detective Sgt. Justin Maier at 360-449-7941 or justin.maier@wsp.wa.gov. Detectives also ask anyone who was in that area between 9:20 and 9:35 p.m. and has dash camera video to check the recording for the Volkswagen.
