Runners at the PeaceHealth Appletree Marathon on Sunday dodged rain showers en route to fast times.
Vincent Hamilton won the Vancouver race by nearly 20 minutes. The former Eastern Washington University runner, 28, finished Sunday’s race in 2 hours, 39 minutes and 19 seconds. The next-fastest runner was Firaoll Abdell in 2:58:52.
Kari Hamilton, 29, crossed the finish line on Officer’s Row in 2:59:16. She held off Xana Bartlett, the fourth-fastest overall finisher in 3:00:32.
The half marathon Sunday was won by Amanda Phillips, a U.S. Olympic Trials competitor. She was the fastest runner in 1:12:43.
