BATTLE GROUND — Many students returning to Battle Ground Public Schools this fall are enjoying a variety of upgrades made to buildings over the summer, according to the school district. Some of this summer’s projects included replacing over 2 acres of carpet at Battle Ground High School, gym floors at Amboy Middle School and the Pleasant Valley campus, and a covered play area at Yacolt Primary — in addition to dozens more. Crews also completed the installation of perimeter fencing at schools, something that was recommended in a district-wide security audit.
Funding came from voter-approved levy funding that was set aside by the school board to address deferred maintenance.
