Sophomore quarterback Braeden Slamp threw four touchdown passes, including a pair to Thor Stepina and the Falcons defense played another solid game in a 52-14 win over Centralia.

“The kids played great,” Prairie coach Mike Peck said. “The offensive line set the tone again, like they did last week, and our first-team defense didn’t allow a score again.”

Prairie opened a 32-6 lead by halftime when Centralia’s points coming on an interception return for a touchdown.

Slamp also had TD passes for Evan Davis and Braydon Petrowski. Stepina had a touchdown run, as did Ryder Troxel and Alex Ford rushed for two scores.

Peck was proud of how his team responded after switching Week 2 opponents on Wednesday after Hudson’s Bay had to withdraw with COVID-19 protocols.

“It’s been a crazy couple of days,” Peck said. “But we’ve got a smart group of kids who really care each other. They learned what they could in a short time frame then applied what they learned to the field.”
