The Clark Public Utilities Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to increase CEO and general manager Lena Wittler’s pay from $254,000 to $267,000, retroactive to July 1. Her other benefits, including a $400 monthly car allowance, remain unchanged.
The increase was based on a review of Wittler’s performance and the utility’s operations during the past year, according to a press release. In a statement, board President Jim Malinowski praised Wittler’s leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Wittler previously served as the utility’s communications and employee resources director before being appointed as CEO in June 2019 following the retirement of former CEO Wayne Nelson. She received a previous pay raise in August 2020, moving from her starting salary of $240,000 to $254,000.
