James Bell passed and rushed for a combined 329 yards and four touchdowns to help McDaniel of Portland beat Fort Vancouver in the season opener 56-12.
McDaniel, formerly Madison High, also got help from Antoni Majewski-Nazari who rushed for 210 yards and two touchdowns.
McDaniel’s defense got in on the action too, recovering five fumbles, providing good field position to their high-powered offense.
Fort Vancouver didn’t go down without a fight. Evan Mendez lead the way for the Trappers with 109 receiving yards, including a 75-yard touchdown pass from Kaeleb Cvitkovich.
Mendez also made an impact on the defensive side of the ball with an interception return for a touchdown to get the Trappers on the board.
