Letter: Unvaxxed treated unfairly

Interesting that recently, first responders, nurses, doctors, caregivers, other health care and front-line workers received accolades for their heroism working with or being exposed to COVID-19 patients daily under trying circumstances. Fast forward to vaccine mandates by Democratic President Joe Biden and Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee that everyone they can control, or force into compliance, must be vaccinated or else they will lose their jobs (with few exemptions).

So, highly lauded folks that have cared for the sick and dying through this whole pandemic, many having suffered COVID-19 infections themselves, are suddenly kicked to the curb because they have personal objections, unanswered questions or have COVID-19 antibodies. They are now the unvaxxed: people to be despised and removed from society.

Are these mandates in the name of science? No, this is a political narrative with the foolish goal of “we will vaccinate everyone and end the pandemic regardless of the consequences to individuals.”

So, consider the havoc created by these mandates to not only a huge number of people, but also to already damaged companies, institutions, government agencies and the military. Is it worth it? I think not. How say you?
