Hockinson held Hudson’s Bay to 40 total yards in the first half as it ran away with a 52-20 blowout in a 2A GSHL football game on Friday night at Kiggins Bowl.

Hawks quarterback Jarod Oldham threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns and running back Cody Wheeler had a pair of first-half scores in the win. Kenyon Johnson added 106 yards receiving and an interception.

Hudson’s Bay found some momentum in the second half, more than quadrupling its first half output and scoring three touchdowns.

Dean Castillo threw a pair of long touchdowns in the second half rally, connecting with Dylan Damos for 54 yards and Lenox Tuala for 31. Castillo finished with 95 yards passing and Mateo Varona finished with a team-high 28 yards rushing and an interception.

With the win, coupled with Ridgefield’s win over R.A. Long, Hockinson (5-2) is locked in as the No. 2 seed from the 2A Greater St. Helens League to the Week 10 district playoffs. The Hawks will host a game on Nov. 5 or 6.
