A man was shot inside a tent by an unknown person Wednesday morning in central Vancouver, according to the Vancouver Police Department.
Police responded at 1:40 a.m. for a reported disturbance with a weapon in the 3700 block of Northeast 54th Avenue.
An officer found a man with a gunshot wound and applied a chest seal before an ambulance arrived, police department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said in an email.
The man, who was not identified, said he did not know who shot him, according to police.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is taking over the investigation because the incident occurred outside of Vancouver city limits, Kapp said.
