Vancouver police lift shelter in place in east Vancouver

Area affected included parts of Mill Plain Boulevard and Southeast Parkcrest Avenue

Vancouver police lifted a warning at 4:46 p.m. Thursday for people to shelter in place or avoid the area of Mill Plain Boulevard and Southeast Parkcrest Avenue while they searched for a “wanted subject,” the agency stated on Twitter.

Vancouver police said the person they were looking for is in custody. Some streets could remain closed while police clear the area.

The agency posted the warning just after 2 p.m. Police have not said who they were searching for or why.
