A man was shot in the head Wednesday morning in Washougal but is in good condition, according to the Washougal Police Department.

Police responded around 1 a.m. to the 4200 block of Addy Loop for reports of a shooting. A man was driving loops around the neighborhood attempting to get his child to fall asleep and was waiting for a family member at a nearby house, according to police.

Another man, who police identified as Isaac Matthew Spiekerman, thought the driver was casing the neighborhood and confronted him. During the argument, police said Spiekerman fired three shots — two of which hit vehicles and a third which hit the driver in the head, police stated.

The Washougal Police Department is still investigating what led up to the shooting.

The victim, who was not identified, received medical treatment for the “significant but not life-threatening injury,” Washougal police said.

Police arrested Spiekerman on suspicion of first-degree assault. He is scheduled to appear Thursday morning in Clark County Superior Court. Police said there are no outstanding suspects.
