Firefighters extinguished a garage fire Monday afternoon in the Harney Heights neighborhood that displaced five residents, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.
Four fire engines, a ladder truck and a battalion chief were dispatched at 12:25 p.m. to the 2900 block of East 13th Street.
The first crew arrived within four minutes, according to the fire department, and found smoke and fire coming from the attached garage. No one was injured.
The Red Cross is helping the residents and two cats who were displaced.
The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
