There are many ways to put points on the board in high school football. The Prairie Falcons found nearly all of them in a non-league rout at Battle Ground District Stadium.
The Falcons (3-3) scored on kickoff, punt and fumble returns as well as three rushing touchdowns on the evening. Braeden Slamp rushed for two touchdowns before leaving the game in the second quarter. Thor Stepina added a rushing touchdown of his own along with a 72-yard punt return in the first quarter to give Prairie a lead it would never lose.
Even 265-pound offensive center Kaleb Watson got into the act, catching a tipped pass and rumbling 10 yards for a first down in the second quarter.
The Falcon defense also was up to the task, dominating the line of scrimmage in holding 2A Black HIlls to 85 total yards of offense, many of those coming in the fourth quarter with the game already decided.
