The Watershed Alliance of Southwest Washington has benefited from a four-year pledge of $250,000 from the Ed and Dollie Lynch Fund to support a deputy director position.
The deputy director’s duties will include development efforts and managerial duties, with the focus on increasing capacity and funding.
The Watershed Alliance focuses on protecting creeks and rivers in Clark County, working with 1,000 kids and adults planting trees, ripping out invasive species, and cleaning up litter on the Columbia River and streets.
“There is more work than we can do with our current staffing and funding, the generous funding from the Ed and Dollie Lynch Fund will enable us to grow,” said Sunrise O’Mahoney, executive director of the Watershed Alliance.
The alliance’s next volunteer opportunity will be Oct. 23 for Make a Difference Day, with a tree planting on Burnt Bridge Creek. Registration information is at www.thewatershedalliance.org.
