Try as we might, even under mostly sunny skies, all we could muster for a high temperature Monday was 68 degrees. That was the identical high as Sunday and both days were a little below average. Saturday, we enjoyed 71 degrees and hopefully we will have a few more days in the 70s. Our average high temperature is now 69 degrees. That falls to 57 degrees by Halloween.
Today some rain and showers are on tap along with some breezy conditions. Wednesday there still could be a shower or two, mainly over the foothills. Thursday we see a mild and dry day. Friday is iffy but could remain dry. Beyond that we enter an unsettled period with a risk of showers and partial clearing. It will be cooler, as mentioned here the other day.
Get outside chores, errands or a trip to the pumpkin patch accomplished on Saturday under mostly sunny skies. Sunday and Monday are going to be cool and quite wet. Moderate snow will fall in the Cascades and snow may fall to pass levels and Government Camp may see its first snowfall of the season. Stay tuned.
Don’t get too excited about the mountain snow. Remember the old saying here, “October snows come and go, November snows stay and grow.” Of course, we’ll be watching the mountains for snowfall, always fun to view the webcams or make a mad crazy dash up to the mountain to catch those first snowflakes of the season. I did that a few times, especially with the kids in my younger days.
