Adam Watts threw two touchdown passes and the Columbia River defense came up with some timely interceptions as the Rapids won at Longview.
Watts’ first TD pass went 24 yards to Aden Flores in the second quarter for a 14-3 lead.
The second TD pass came after the Rapid’s defense made an interception with 5:57 to play. Watts connected with Thomas Blau, who was wide open, for a 35-yard scoring pass to make it 21-3.
R.A. Long grinded out the first seven minutes of the game, finishing a 15-play drive with a field goal.
The Rapids came right back with a drive of their own. Victor Flores finished it with a 5-yard TD run at a 7-3 lead Columbia River would not relinquish.
