Clark women come up short against Tacoma, 78-74

Chloe Spencer scored a team-high 17 points for the Clark Penguins, but the Tacoma Titans pulled away the final minutes for a 78-74 non-conference women’s basketball win Tuesday at the O’Connell Center.

Clark (1-3) rallied from 11 points down in the third quarter to lead by as many as three points late in the fourth before the Titans (2-2) regained control.

Maggie Spencer added 12 points, and Neriah Efferson and Camas High grad Haylie Johnson had 10 points apiece for Clark.

Shiho Isono and Adrienne Washington each scored 23 points for Tacoma.

Clark’s next game is 6 p.m. Thursday against Lower Columbia at the O’Connell Center on the Clark campus.
