Monday was a spectacular “bonus” day with mostly sunny skies and a view of the Cascades that would have knocked your socks off. Mount Hood and St. Helens were outstanding, and did you notice Silver Star and the higher foothills with snow on them as well?
Despite a cool air mass and easterly winds, the full sunshine ruled and pushed us above average with a high of 57 degrees here in Vancouver. It doesn’t get much better than that, does it? Another weather system was bearing down upon us as indicated by those high cirrus clouds visible late afternoon and at sunset.
In addition, the rain drops ended a few minutes prior to midnight so as of 5 p.m. Monday we had a “rainless” day. Another bonus and no worries as we are still running above average for the month. Today scattered showers will be dancing around us but remaining on the light side.
More steady rain late Wednesday and rain or showers Thursday and Friday. Heavier rain over the weekend as we watch the exact placement of another projected atmospheric river. Freezing level will bounce above ski areas before falling again next week. November fails to disappoint.
