Students at various schools throughout Battle Ground Public Schools are planning events to show appreciation for men and women in uniform ahead of Veterans Day on Thursday.

Members of the Battle Ground Junior Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps recorded a video to share with middle school students honoring the flag and will hold flag-folding ceremonies at 10 a.m. on Nov. 11 at both Overlook Park in Ridgefield and the Fort Vancouver Artillery Barracks.

At Daybreak Middle School, veterans are invited to drive through the school parking lot to meet students and receive tokens of appreciation from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

CAM Academy is hosting a virtual Veterans Day assembly at 1 p.m. today featuring messages from parents who served in the military. Prairie High School’s Associated Student Body is also creating a video highlighting various local veterans to be shown on Wednesday.

A full list of the events and presentations honoring Thursday’s holiday can be found on Battle Ground Public Schools’ website.
