A man suspected of killing a woman early this month in North Portland was arrested Friday in Texas, authorities say.

U.S. marshals arrested Henry Brogdon — who had been wanted in the shooting death of Breauna White — in Tyler, Texas.

Brogdon, 30, is being held in a Texas jail on a warrant for second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon, Portland police said. Police expect him to be extradited to Oregon.

Portland officers initially responded to North Willamette Boulevard and Charleston Avenue on the morning of May 5 and found White suffering from gunshot wounds. She died at the scene.

White, 30, was the mother of two children and worked for TriMet as a bus driver. White and Brogdon were in a romantic relationship, according to police.

White’s cousin, Loomis Hendrix, told KGW (8) that White was a “jokester” who “just wanted everyone to have fun, dance and laugh.”

Thirty-three people, including White, have died in homicides this year in Portland.
