NORTH GARRISON HEIGHTS — A luminary display was recently held at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center to honor lives lost at the hospital due to COVID-19. It also was held to honor caregivers during National Hospital and Healthcare Workers Week, in order to “acknowledge the extraordinary sacrifices they have made caring for patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The display lit up a garden path along the hospital’s Firstenburg Tower.

Before the event, PeaceHealth caregivers placed blue LED candles in 130 bags, each honoring a patient who died at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical center because of COVID-19. Some workers wrote messages on the bags.
