Clark County recorded 294 new COVID-19 cases since Friday, and one death — a man in his 30s with an underlying condition, according to Clark County Public Health.
The new fatality pushes the death toll from COVID-19 to 265 in Clark County. Deaths are added to the county’s total 10 to 12 days after they occur. One death was reported last week; five deaths were reported the week ending May 7.
The new cases reported Monday include 262 confirmed with molecular (PCR) testing, bringing the total to 22,624 to date, and 32 probable cases diagnosed by antigen testing, according to Public Health data. Combined, the number of confirmed and probable cases works out to 98 new cases a day since Friday, up from an average of about 80 cases a day last week and about 95 cases the week before.
The number of active cases, counting both confirmed and probable cases still in their isolation period, rose to 693 on Monday, up from 677 on Friday, according to Public Health. Hospitalizations were up slightly over the weekend, with 43 people hospitalized with COVID-19 on Monday, up from 41 on Friday, and two people hospitalized awaiting test results, up from one on Friday.
