Ridgefield City Councilmember Sandra Day is stepping down next month.

Day recently announced she would be leaving her position June 1, according to a news release from the city. She plans to move out of the city and closer to her family.

Day was appointed to the council in September 2012 before two re-elections. She also was a member of the Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge and the Parks Foundation of Clark County, played a leadership role in the annual Ridgefield Big Paddle and supported the Friends of the Ridgefield Library.

The council plans to begin an appointment process to fill the position after Day’s departure.
