PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center caregivers will create a luminary lighting display tonight to honor health care workers who have served patients throughout the pandemic, along with patients who have died from COVID-19.

Throughout the afternoon caregivers will place paper bags containing LED candles along the garden path outside PeaceHealth Southwest’s Firstenburg Tower.

A number of bags will be illuminated by blue candles in remembrance of patients lost to COVID-19. Caregivers will write messages on their bag before placing it along the garden path.

All bags are expected to be placed and illuminated by 9 p.m. The luminary lighting event is one of several celebrations this week at PeaceHealth Southwest in recognition of National Hospital & Healthcare Workers Week.
