The weather forecast this week is an easy one with mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures. Highs will generally be in the 70s except Wednesday, when we could see 80 degrees or better. The warm and dry weather lingers into this weekend.
Although we may see more clouds and cooler temperatures by the weekend, highs will still be average for this time in May, around 68 degrees. So, when is the next chance of rain? As I look at computer models late Monday, it appears we may have a downturn by late Sunday into Monday, but that is so far out it is like a moving target. We have had forecast charts hint of rain several days out and by the time we get there it fizzles.
I was relaxing along a lakefront over the weekend watching the ducks, geese, and other birds either swimming or flying by. It reminded me of birds and the weather. Here are a few old weather sayings involving birds.
If the goose honks high, fair weather; if the goose honks low, foul weather. Birds flying low, expect rain and a blow. If the lark flies high, expect fair weather. If the rooster crows on going to bed, you may rise with a watery head. If the raven crows, expect rain. When geese cackle, it will rain.
