WASHOUGAL — Corey Dobbs, 30, of Washougal, won a Rising Star award from the Council for Advancement and Support in District 8. Dobbs, a 2016 graduate of Clark College, is a development specialist in annual giving and alumni relations at the Clark College Foundation.

The award acknowledges “professionals who demonstrate potential for leadership within institutional advancement,” according to a news release.

“Those who work with Corey know his unwavering commitment to all that’s associated and affiliated with Clark,” said Ed Boston, director of alumni relations. “He is a valuable asset to the organization. For all he does, he makes us proud, and we are fortunate to have him on the team.”

Dobbs was a student at Clark College when he received a scholarship from the foundation to complete a GED, later earning an associate degree.

“I wouldn’t be in the position I am today if it wasn’t for the incredible support I received from the school that not only changed my life but saved it,” Dobbs said.
