MOUNTAIN VIEW – Mountain View High School junior Ariyanna Haygood participated as a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders on March 20-21. The Congress is an honors-only program for high school students interested in medical research fields or who want to become physicians.
The nomination was signed by Dr. Mario Capecchi, winner of the Nobel Prize in Medicine and science director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists. Haygood represents Washington based on her academic achievement, leadership potential and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine, according to a news release.
During the two-day Congress, Haygood joined students from across the country to talk about medical research and other medical topics.
