CAMAS – Celebrating its 75th anniversary, The Camas-Washougal Community Chest awarded 28 grants totaling $127,671, which will be donated to local nonprofit organizations that will help children and families in the two cities. The organization also announced a new partnership with the Camas-Washougal Rotary Foundation to help fund additional grants. Some of the organizations that received grants in 2021 included Inter-Faith Treasure House; Children’s Home Society; Washougal School District; Janus Youth Programs; Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership; Meals on Wheels People; and many others. “We are excited that our partnership with the Rotary Foundation will help more local charities thrive by supporting much-needed programs and services for residents of Camas and Washougal financially and with volunteers,” Camas-Washougal Community Chest Co-President Joelle Scheldorf said.
