Three people were hospitalized after a head-on crash Sunday on state Highway 503 east of Woodland, according to Washington State Patrol.
Tessana Burkett, 26, of Woodland was northbound on the highway around 2 p.m. when she crossed the center line and collided with another vehicle occupied by Samuel P. Hammond, 46, of Vancouver and passenger Angela D. Lingo-Davis, 42, of Washougal, according to a WSP crash memo.
Hammond and Lingo-Davis veered off the road to the left, causing their vehicle to roll onto its side and catch fire, troopers said. They were both taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries. On Monday, Lingo-Davis was listed in serious condition, and Hammond was in satisfactory condition, according to a PeaceHealth spokesman.
Burkett was also reportedly injured and transported to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview. She was treated and released, according to the spokesman.
The crash memo says drugs or alcohol are believed to be a factor in the crash. The exact cause remains under investigation, but troopers reported charges are pending against Burkett.
