Do you enjoy a good spy thriller? The library has many books in this popular genre, but did you know that we also have spy thrillers on DVD? Our extensive DVD collection has something for everyone including those of us who enjoy a good spy film. This happens to be one of my favorite movie categories (for my husband, too), and let me tell you, during the past year with so much time spent at home, we have watched a lot of movies. A lot. Since I enjoy movies about spies and espionage, I thought you might, too, so here is a sampling of titles available at the library. If you want to look for even more spy-themed films, here are two searches to try in our online catalog at www.fvrl.org: 1) espionage drama 2) spies drama.

Keeping it short and sweet this week. Now go watch some movies!

• “Bridge of Spies” directed by Steven Spielberg, starring Tom Hanks.

• “The Conversation” directed by Francis Ford Coppola, starring Gene Hackman.

• “From Russia with Love” directed by Terence Young, starring Sean Connery.

• “The Good Shepherd” directed by Robert De Niro, starring Matt Damon.

• “Jason Bourne” directed by Paul Greengrass, starring Matt Damon.

• “Kingsman: The Secret Service” directed by Matthew Vaughn, starring Colin Firth.

• “North by Northwest” directed by Alfred Hitchcock, starring Cary Grant.

• “Red Joan” directed by Trevor Nunn, starring Judi Dench.

• “Salt” directed by Phillip Noyce, starring Angelina Jolie.

• “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” directed by Tomas Alfredson, starring Gary Oldman.
