Clark County records 36 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths on Wednesday

Public Health data shows test positivity was dropping in February

Clark County recorded 36 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths on Wednesday, according to the latest data from Clark County Public Health.

There have been 18,879 cases of COVID-19 in Clark County to date, with an average of about 34 cases a day reported since Friday, matching the daily average from last week, according to Public Health data.

There have been 232 deaths from COVID-19 to date, with the last fatality reported on Tuesday, according to Public Health data.

COVID-19 cases peaked shortly after the start of the year and have been declining ever since. The decline has showed up in test positivity data, which showed a positivity rate of 3.07 percent, with 216 of 7,031 COVID-19 tests coming back positive in the week of Feb. 21-27, down from a positivity rate of 4.8 percent the previous week.

There were 268 active cases on Wednesday, counting people with COVID-19 still in their isolation period, up from 259 on Tuesday.

Hospitalizations have been steady, with 18 people hospitalized with COVID-19, down from 19 on Tuesday, and one person hospitalized awaiting test results, down from three on Tuesday.
