If you were at the Washington Coast on Monday it was full of blue skies and sunshine. I wish I could say that for us here in Clark County. We did have clear skies overnight, dropping the thermometer to 28 degrees in Vancouver. Then after sunrise, the clouds rolled in.
There were scattered showers, some mixed with hail and wet snow. One reader near Brush Prairie commented that her car thermometer was at 40 degrees, yet it was snowing. Just goes to show you how cold the air aloft was Monday.
It will be frosty again this morning and probably Wednesday as the cool air lingers. With more sunshine, however, we will be in the 50s today and perhaps close to 60 degrees Wednesday. Our high Monday was only 47 degrees, which was the coldest since a 42-degree high temperature on Feb. 18. Nearly a month. We need the spring cheerleading squad to rise and shine here.
My niece lives in Tucson and she posted pictures the other day of the snow in her yard. Snow was in the air further south all the way to the Mexican border. What did you think of all the snow over the weekend in Denver? About 27 inches fell there and boy did they really need it. The area is in a severe drought and this will be good to soak into the ground and maybe deter wildfires this summer.
