Clark County records 105 new COVID-19 cases, two new deaths since Friday

Public Health said both fatalities were women in their 80s with underlying health conditions

Clark County recorded 105 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths since Friday, in the latest data released Monday by Clark County Public Health.

The fatalities were two women age 80 or older with underlying conditions, according to Public Health. Their deaths bring the county’s total deaths from COVID-19 to 231 to date. One death was reported last week.

The 105 new cases push Clark County’s total number of COVID-19 cases to 18,813 to date, according to Public Health data. The total over three days since Friday works out to an average of 35 new cases a day.

The number of active cases, which measures people with COVID-19 still in their isolation period, rose to 256 on Monday, up from 234 on Friday, according to Public Health data.

There were 15 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in Clark County on Monday, up from 13 on Friday, and there were three people hospitalized awaiting test results, down from six on Friday, according to Public Health data.

In a measure used to guide reopening decisions, the percentage of ICU beds occupied by all patients had fallen to 71.9 percent on Monday, down from 81.3 percent on Friday, according to Public Health, which also reported that 3.3 percent of all licensed hospital beds in the county were occupied by people with or suspected of having COVID-19 on Monday, the same percentage as on Friday.
