Are we on a roll or what? I mean three straight days with highs at or above 60 degrees? With clear skies and plenty of sunshine Saturday, Vancouver reached 64 degrees, the warmest so far this year. The only caveat I can think of are those freezing overnight low temperatures. Vancouver dipped to 30 degrees at 7 a.m. Saturday, and other observers had lows in the 20s outside the main metro area.
Don’t get too anxious about setting out those colorful flowers that many garden centers are enticing you to bring home. It is too cold, folks. Unless you want to go out at night and cover them up with blankets. We have showers later today and a risk of a shower Monday. The showers will be mainly over the foothills where some may fall as snow.
Overnight lows Monday through Wednesday will be hovering near the freezing point here in the city and below in outlying areas. The next chance of rain arrives Friday and over the weekend, as things look now. We survived turning the clocks forward one hour today, and Saturday, we welcome the official start of spring early in the morning at 2:37 a.m. our time.
That will be right in the middle of the days on which it can fall on, such as March 19, 20 or 21. That first day of spring is the vernal equinox.
